The Grizzly is a heavy fire support Heavy Gear, introduced among Northern armies in the TN 1850s and based on the older Bear design. Boasting tremendous firepower, it is nevertheless slow and lumbering compared to smaller Gear designs. It is most dangerous when paired with a forwarder observer unit which can spot for the Grizzly's devastating weaponry.[1]

UsageEdit

The Grizzly fought in a number of minor skirmishes, including against the South, but its true test came during the War of the Alliance. Against the fast hovertanks of the Colonial Expeditionary Force, the Grizzly proved itself an effective fighter, particularly when working alongside spotter units.[1]

Standard doctrine is for Grizzly units to be deployed in mixed companies, providing fire support for Strike squadrons forward-deployed, and with at least one spotter unit providing lasing and targeting data.[1]

VariantsEdit

Engineering GrizzlyEdit

The Engineering Grizzly trades most of its combat capabilities for the tools needed to perform battlefield engineering tasks.
